Docker Desktop is an application for building and running software containers on Windows and macOS, and also on Linux. Containers package an application with everything it needs, so it runs the same way on your computer as on a server.
It includes the Docker Engine, the command-line tools, Docker Compose for multi-container setups, and an optional local Kubernetes cluster. On Windows it normally runs on WSL 2.
