Aptorise helps you find software. You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name or email address.

Stored only in your browser

Some choices are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them: your light or dark theme, the software you add to Build My Setup, and your answer to the analytics question below. These stay on your device and aren't sent to Aptorise. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Analytics (optional)

If you choose Allow in the analytics bar, Aptorise uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and tools are useful, so we can improve the site. If you choose No thanks, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.

When allowed, Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine), your browser and device type, and an approximate location that Google derives from your connection. Aptorise also sends a small number of events about how the site is used, such as which software page was viewed, which official website link was followed, or that a setup was completed. These events contain software and page identifiers only. Search terms typed into the site are shortened, and anything that looks like an email address, a long number or a web address is removed before sending. Aptorise never sends your name, email address or anything you type into forms.

Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to recognise repeat visits; by default these last up to two years. Advertising features and ad personalisation are not enabled. Google processes this data on Aptorise's behalf; see Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google may process data outside the UK.

Changing your mind: use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Choosing No thanks stops analytics and removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site in your browser.

Links to other websites

Aptorise links to official developer websites and app stores. When you follow those links, the other site's own privacy policy applies. Aptorise doesn't host third-party installers.

Hosting

Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the service running securely.
